A Love That Never Lasts
Part Three- A Beautiful Surprise?

Since today was Saturday, I usually slept in all morning until noon or so or when mother woke me up but it was a little different this morning. "Wake up, sunshine."  I didn't really recognize the voice so I just put my pillow over my head.
"Kiyoko James! Wake up!"
"No, mom. Four more minutes," I whined.
"Fine. You want to make Roku wait."
"Roku?!," I quickly jumped out of bed and hugged him. "What are you doing here?"
"I have something to show you."
"Oh, okay. Just give me a second."
"Roku, you can have some breakfast if you want."
"Okay, thank you, Sachiko-san. Something made me wonder why he came to my house instead of call me, but I guess this was a big surprise or something. When I got downstairs, he was stuffing his mouth and I laughed when I saw that.
"You ready?"
"Yeah."
"Oh, okay. Thanks, Sachiko-san. That was good."
"Well, I didn't go to culinary school for nothing."
"Let's go."
"Okay," he moaned as I dragged him. "You're in a hurry."
"Yeah, so what do you want to tell me."
"If I say, promise you won't scream."
"Okay, okay, what?"
"I know I was hinting all night, but your favorite singer is my little sister."
"What?! You're kidding. No way Tasumi is your sister."
"Yeah, she is. Fine, see for yourself." I just stared at him as he opened the door to the house. "Wow! Nice house," I chirped.
"Roku! I told you not to let fans in my house!"
"Tasumi?!"
"I know, sis. This is Kiyoko, one of your biggest fans."
"Oh, this is your girlfriend."
"Girlfriend?," I pondered looking at him.
"Yeah," he said winking at me.
"Oh my gosh, it's so nice to meet you!," I chirped before hugging her. "I'm sorry...I'm
just a hugger."
"You're fine. But don't tell anyone where we live."
"Don't worry. I don't really have friends."
"You and me both. So how long have you been a fan?"
"Since you first came out. You're such a visionary to me."
"Oh, I'm not a visionary. I was forced into all of this."
"But you're so talented. You deserve all of this."
"This isn't what I wanted. But thanks for the compliment." I knew this wasn't the girl I saw on television all of the time. She just seemed so miserable, so maybe all the things Roku said were true. But then I noticed she had a bruise on her arm which worried me.
"What happened to your arm?"
"Huh? Oh, I had a CD signing last night. Crazied fans, you know."
"For Tasumi Train?! I love that album!"
"Yeah, that one."
"I don't know. That bruise looks pretty fresh."
"Kiyoko, no," Roku whispered in a warning tone.
"You know what, I have something to do...upstairs." I noticed tears started to fall from
her eyes before she ran upstairs. I was a little confused until Roku told me that his dad probably did that to her. He didn't bother to tell me anything until I went upstairs to find her.
"Tasumi!," I knocked. "Tasumi!"
"Go away, Kiyoko. You don't want you to see me like this."
"Please, let me in. I understand what you're going through."
"How do you?," she whined.
"My mother was abused too. She vowed to never do that to her child."
"Fine, come in.

To Be Continued...
